Hurricane Eta, Caribbean, Central and North America, November 2020Hurricane Eta made landfall on 03 November in the North Caribbean Coast Autonomous Region (RACCN) of Nicaragua. As of 03 to 04 November, storm surge and high waves caused some coastal flooding. Heavy rainfall caused flash flooding in parts of RACCN in Nicaragua and eastern departments of Honduras. Heavy rainfall reportedly associated with Hurricane Eta also caused flooding in Trinidad and Jamaica around 02 to 04 November. OCHA reported on 05 November that Eta had also affected Costa Rica, Guatemala and Panama, among others. By 06 November, heavy rain associated with Eta and combined with 2 cold fronts caused flooding in southern Mexico. Heavy rainfall from 07 November caused flooding in Cuba and again in Jamaica, this time mostly in St Andrew according to media reports. Eta then moved north, making landfall on Lower Matecumbe Key in southern Florida, USA, late on 08 November.
